Lilian Bland - Learning To Fly app for iPhone and iPad

Lilian Bland: Learning to Fly is a simple and fun way to learn the forces of flying, using augmented reality. Create and fly your own airplane with Lilian Bland, the first woman in the world to build and fly her own airplane.

This AR experience was developed with Lilian Bland as the central character of the experience, where Lilian Bland’s story in her aviation achievement is explained while explaining the forces of flying that Lilian had to conquer as the central game challenge. Lilian Bland: Learning to Fly intertwines key elements such as storytelling, physics, math, and history - making it the optimal learning experience.

As a wider education development project for Northern Ireland, this app was developed in collaboration with Carol Moore, Gwen Stevenson, and Dr. Margaret Morgan, Associate Head of The School of Engineering, University of Ulster, and AR/VR company RETiniZE with support from Future Screens Northern Ireland.
